ORAL HYGIENE FOR FRESH BREATH AND BEAUTIFUL SMILE

There are so many things trending in the media from fashion to politics but its rather unfortunate oral hygiene isn’t part of these trends even though the mouth serves as a vital window into the health of your body. Oral hygiene is the practice of keeping one’s mouth clean and free of disease and other problems. Bad oral hygiene can kill self-confidence and destroy your social life. Oral problems have led to the breakup of so many relationships and some people are now literally allergic to kissing and smiling.

However, you don’t need a million dollar to achieve a good oral hygiene and this article is here to help out.

  • REGULAR DENTAL CHECKUPS

Do you know if you visit the dentist the same way you visit the hair salon or your family / friends you wouldn’t suffer most oral problems? At the dental check up your dentist will check for cavities. X-rays might be taken to detect cavities between your teeth. The exam will also include a check for plaque and tartar on your teeth. Plaque is a clear, sticky layer of bacteria. If it is not removed, it can harden and become tartar. You cannot remove tartar with brushing and flossing. If plaque and tartar build up on your teeth, they can cause oral diseases which lead to sore, mouth odour, discoloured teeth etc.

In addition, your gums, tongue and throat will be checked to look for any signs of trouble – swelling, redness, or possible signs of cancer. You should have a regular dental visit at least every 6 months or as recommended by your dental professional.

  • PROPER BRUSHING TECHNIQUE

Most people think brushing of teeth is nothing serious but just one of those daily routines so they hardly even pay attention to it. However, brushing your teeth everyday doesn’t mean you’re giving your mouth all the attention it needs especially when you are doing it all wrong the whole time. There is a technique that help you achieve a well clean mouth after brushing and this is it; start with your brush at a 45-degree angle to your gums and use short back and forth strokes across the sides and tops of your teeth. Then, hold the brush vertically and use several shorter strokes to focus on the backs of your teeth of the front anterior teeth where plaque builds up often. And after brushing, bacteria can still remain on the tongue, so be sure to brush or scrape your tongue as part of your daily routine. Not only will it banish bacteria, but cleaning your tongue can also help freshen your breath. Again, make sure to rinse your brush clean after each use and allow it to air dry to prevent bacterial breed in the brush. Now don’t just brush, use this technique and say bye bye to almost all oral problems.

  • CHANGE YOUR TOOTHBRUSH OFTEN

Toothbrush is one of the cheapest item at any supermarket but how often do you change it? There are people who change their brushes on special occasions only. They buy a new brush only when they go for  birthday  or Christmas shopping and this habit of using brush for several months or even a year doesn’t help oral health. Bristles deteriorate with time and usage, so if you’re using the same toothbrush beyond a few months, you may not be getting the best clean anymore. Make a point of getting a new brush every three months.

  • USE OF MOUTHWASH

Mouthwash is another key item when it comes to oral health. It can go where toothbrushes and floss can’t in order to rid your mouth of the same debris that irritates the gum-line and causes gingivitis. Add mouthwash to your oral care regimen to get the most thorough clean mouth you can, even when you’re on the go. A good mouthwash freshens your breath throughout the day. You can ask your dentist for recommendation if you don’t know which mouthwash to go for.

  • USE OF FLOSS

Like brushing, flossing must be done properly so that when you reach between teeth, you can actually get to the germs that are stuck there. Ideally, use a piece of floss up to 18 inches in length, allowing you to use a fresh area of floss every few teeth without reinserting bacteria you just removed or simply use pieces of floss picks which are very handy. Keep in mind the floss should rub against the teeth in a motion that creates a forward or backward ‘C’ shape, wrapping the floss around each tooth.

  • USE OF MOUTH SPRAY

A bad breath can be caused by bacteria on the tongue, the gums and around teeth and implants. Start your day with a healthy ritual: brushing, scraping and rinsing. It helps, but during the day, bacteria increase and the unpleasant taste and smell returns. Mouth spray helps relieve mouth odour, dryness and pain or discomfort in the mouth or throat that may be caused by certain disease conditions, medications, surgery, or chemotherapy and radiation treatments. Mouth spray contributes to the prevention of bad breath and instantly gives a fresh sensation.

  • STAY AWAY FROM SUGARY FOODS

Apart from sugar making us fat, do you know its also harmful to our teeth and cause numerous oral problems? The bacteria that forms together to become plaque use sugar as a form of energy. Whenever you eat, the bacteria naturally found within your mouth works hard to break down the food, which in turn causes acid to develop. The acid produced within your mouth then begins to break down the structure of your teeth, along with destroying your tooth enamel and dentine, which then results in tooth decay and mouth odour. This means that staying away from sugary food helps you avoid this problem. In addition, make sure to brush your teeth after every meal most especially before bed time and avoid snacking in the middle of the night.

Taking all these practices seriously, you would be able to achieve a good oral hygiene which will boost your self-confidence and social life.

  1. Thanks for your post. A beautiful and healthy smile is everyone’s dream. To a large extent, we are responsible for that. Regular teeth brushing, threading teeth and inspections. If a tooth loss occurs, it is best to go to a professional who is taking care of implants or prosthetics. These are complex fields, so it’s worth choosing someone who’s proven. Dental Travel Poland becomes very popular. These are journeys aimed at creating a Hollywood smile. They are a treatment of aesthetic dentistry, aesthetic medicine, implantology and prosthetics. Many thanks for your post right hereGreetings

You can exchange hairdressing, cosmetics, cosmetology, aesthetic medicine, aesthetic dentistry and plastic surgery here. Each of these branches deals with other treatments and above all effects. When we deciding to interfere with our body, we need to think about what we want to correct, why and what kind of effects we expect. An important aspect is the review of clinics and salons. Nowadays it is difficult for people with the right experience to perform treatments at low prices. However, it is better to invest more with the certainty that we will leave the place satisfied and confident. The article has really peaks my interest.
