BEAUTY BENEFITS OF BAKING SODA YOU DON’T KNOW….part1

Baking of bread is the only thing that comes into your mind when baking soda is mentioned, don’t worry you are not alone. To our surprise, there are more uses and benefits of this kitchen staple than we thought and can actually be used as a cheap DIY alternative to many expensive spa treatments. Arm & Hammer, a household products manufacturer best known for its bright-orange boxes of baking soda, suggests these solutions for smoother hair, brighter skin, whiter teeth, and more. I know you are wondering how baking soda perform this magic so keep reading the post.

Facial scrub

Spotless, smooth and glowing skin is part of everyone’s wishlist and also we all love that deep-clean feeling we get from a facial scrub or the facial treatment and pampering we receive at the spa but can we afford that on a regular bases? This is where baking soda comes in as a hero to save the day. Make your own exfoliating facial scrub using baking soda. Make a paste of three parts baking soda to one part water. Rub onto your face with gentle, circular strokes, then rinse with warm water. Doing this on a regular bases will give you that flawless skin you have always wanted.

Do you feel shampooing your hair is not enough to remove all the dirt built up from mousses, serums, sprays etc. and your hair feels sticky and appear dull or have you ever coloured your hair only to realize how disastrous it was? Baking soda to the rescue, all you need is the following;
1. Anti-dandruff shampoo
2. Baking soda
3. Conditioner
4. Bowl
5. Spoon

First, wash your hair with the anti-dandruff shampoo and then take equal parts of baking soda and the shampoo in the bowl. Stir well with the spoon so that they are properly mixed. Massage your hair with the mixture. Start from the roots and make your way to the tips. Make sure that each strand is covered with the mixture. Leave the shampoo-baking soda mixture on your hair for 5 to 10 minutes and then rinse it off well. Wash your hair again with the anti-dandruff shampoo and leave it on for a few minutes before you rinse it off. After that, condition your hair as usual and you will realise how clean, shiny and manageable your hair has become.

Dead cells make the skin look dull, dry and a bit rough when they build on the surface of the skin that why we need to scrub it of regularly to get that smooth, shiny and flawless skin. Speed cell turnover and get an enviable all-over glow by exfoliating once a week with baking soda. Say good bye to expensive body scrub; make your own with baking soda by using the same formula as your face: one part water to three parts baking soda.  Flawless skin just got cheaper with baking soda!!

For whiter teeth without all the chemicals that come with home whitening kits, simply sprinkle baking soda into your palm, dip a damp toothbrush into it, and brush your teeth for about a minute and rinse your mouth thoroughly. Note: you shouldn’t use baking soda as a replacement for toothpaste. Toothpaste contains fluoride, which is important for preventing cavities. Smile with confidence!!

Deodorant

Do you have an unpleasant smell from your armpit or do you have sensitive or are you  just tired of the stains in your dresses caused by some deodorant? Stores stock a variety of deodorants and antiperspirants, but if you’re concerned about the health or environmental effects of using such products, there are alternatives. You may be able to use a dusting of baking soda in place of store-bought deodorant. Baking soda neutralizes acids and bases, so it removes odors. It also won’t stain your clothes the way many antiperspirants do. Feel fresh and dry all day naturally!!!!

Take your at-home pedicure a step further by making a soothing foot-bath using a solution of three parts baking soda to one part warm water. Let your feet soak in a basin for about 10 minutes, and then apply a rich lotion to your legs and feet. Wrap a warm towel around them, and let sit for another 5 to 10 minutes. Your legs and feet will then be salon smooth.
